Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

  • When designing a golf simulator room, it is important to consider several factors to ensure the space is both comfortable and functional. If you plan to include a home theatre setup, spectator seating, or accommodate both left- and right-handed golfers, additional space will be required.

For reliable performance and safe play, a room that is at least 15 feet wide and 17 feet long is recommended. These measurements represent minimum guidelines, and a larger space is always preferable to avoid a cramped feel and to improve overall safety and usability.

Ceiling height is another critical consideration. While a height of 9 feet can be workable in some cases, a ceiling height of 10 feet or more is strongly recommended to allow for a more natural swing and a more open, comfortable environment.

Any impact screen or netting should be installed 12 to 16 inches from the back wall to safely absorb ball impact and protect the structure behind it. The teeing area should be positioned a minimum of 8.5 feet from the screen, with 9 to 10 feet being the optimal distance for realistic ball flight, accurate launch monitor readings, and player safety.

Whenever possible, designing with extra space beyond these minimums will enhance safety, comfort, and the overall simulator experience.
